Issue Summary
Cirin and Astoria are in a semi-awake state: Cirin is awake and telling General Greer about her dream, but at the same time, she is looking at Astoria, who is in another bed at the foot of her bed.
Swoon is still in his dream land, where his "sister" Sleaze also is. Sleaze takes the much smaller Swoon and puts him down her pants.
Cerebus drinks buckets of scotch and "loses" Missy but quickly finds her again. Jaka is seen walking around in a garden in the snow. She sees a statue and thinks it is Cerebus with out stretched hands. When she looks at it again, it turns out to really be a statue of an angel.
Cirin wakes up and General Greer is executed.

Annotations
- While Cirin and Astoria are in their semi-awake vision, the beds they are in have chess board appearances: the covers look like a chess board, and the bed posts are shaped like chess pieces: bishops, queens and knights.
- 2: "The chariot a carriage." Astoria broke her arm in a carriage accident. The Chariot is a card in the Tarot deck in our time, it's symbolism in Estarcion is not known. The Tarot suggestion is strengthened by the next line "The Tower falls" as The Tower (struck by lightning) is another traditional Tarot card. (Alexx)
- Cirin's mind is, temporarily, 'overlapping' with Astoria's. She uses no proper names during this scene, and it is implied that this same scene is being played out simultaneously with Astoria. (Alexx)
- 3: "You have a single voice." Astoria must have a close analogue to General Greer present with her, who is saying those lines. (Alexx)
- 5: The 'play' metaphor has been used often before, in connection with magical events and the Ascension (xxx). (Alexx)
- Note the chess motif of the bed. (Alexx)
- 6: Astoria has the scotch she asked for last issue. (Alexx)
- 7: Sleaze is a parody of Desire from Sandman. (Alexx)
